Garden Party with Yoga raises £900 for Cancer Charities
A
very successful Garden Party in aid of Cancer Research U.K. and Amenities
for the new Oncology Wing at Eastbourne District General Hospital took
place on Sunday, 18th August at the home of Gill Collins in Old
Town.
The
idea was suggested by popular Yoga Teacher, Olga Oakenfold and was strongly
supported by members of her Yoga Class from the University of Brighton Sports
Centre, together with numerous family members and friends who all gave
generously of their time, talent and gifts.
The
event included sessions of Yoga stretches led by Olga, Magic conducted by Jay
Jaxon, face painting, lucky dip, raffle, a PIMM’s Bar expertly provided
and managed by Fiona and Ray Cain and sponsored by ASDA together with home-
made refreshments.
Also
on hand were: Nutritionist, Victoria Baker and an organic vegetable stall
run by Trecia and Gerry Croft, whilst professional photographer Derek Hanlon
recorded the fun on camera.
The
final sum, with some donations still arriving, is in the region of £900 to be
divided between the two charities.
